Universal Design for Learning frames every lesson around one firm, expectations-aligned goal and five flexible components that make that goal accessible to all learners: methods, materials, assessments, the learning environment, and student reflection. This session clarifies the purpose of each component, highlights practical “look-fors” that signal strong alignment, and guides participants through an interactive planning process using before and after UDL makeovers. By the end, participants will be able to audit or redesign a current lesson to include multiple pathways for engagement, representation, and expression.
