Our classrooms are dynamic learning spaces where students learn through hands-on experiences, mentor texts, and discussions. Once knowledge is constructed, our students illustrate, label, create timelines, and write in their visual journals. We provide frameworks and our students represent their learning. This process fosters deep understanding and gives our students agency in their learning. It is completely different from highlighting passages on a worksheet, fill-in the blanks, and word searches often found in a traditional worksheet unit. Learn how you can use this tool to meet the needs of diverse learners from high ability students to students needing accommodations. Join us on this journey! It is time to step away from the photocopier.
