Sable Chan
Sable Chan earned a Masters of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Alberta, and a Certificate of Vocology from the University of Iowa. During her Masters program at the University of Alberta, she completed a thesis in Voice Choral Singing Therapy Outcomes in Persons with Parkinsons. Sable has been trained in Voice Science, Voice Habilitation and Voice Instrumentation by Dr. Ingo Titze, Dr. Katherine Verdolini Abbott, and Dr. Eric Hunter respectively during her time at the National Centre for Voice and Speech . In addition, Sable completed a specialized voice placement at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital and worked in an Inter-Disciplinary rehabilitation hospital setting. Areas of practice have included work with Aphasia, Motor Speech, and Voice.
Sable has been working in private practice and specializing in the area of voice therapy for the past 13 years. She also works at the Tevie Miller Heritage School Program for the Edmonton Public School Board. In addition to her Speech Pathology and Voice Therapy interests, Sable is a professional choral singer in Edmonton. Currently, she is a member of Pro Coro Canada , Edmonton Opera Chorus , Canadian Chamber Choir , and FEMME Vocal Ensemble. Most recently, Sable was named Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Magazine for their Class of 2019.
